After finishing high school, I decided to take a leap of faith by enrolling in a technical program, not knowing if it would truly be something for me. I quickly discovered my interest in the world of technology, which motivated me to choose Mechanical Engineering. During my studies, I became increasingly fascinated by how technology works and what it can mean for the world around us.

When I obtained my diploma, I felt that something was still missing. I wanted to leave something behind, a lasting contribution that my children and grandchildren could one day witness. I wanted to make history.​ This led me to Civil Engineering. The moment I drove over the Waalbrug in Nijmegen, I asked myself: what is essential for the Netherlands? The answer was clear: our infrastructure. It’s the bridges, roads, and waterworks that protect us and keep us moving, like the Waalbrug, which has connected the Netherlands for nearly 100 years.​ For that reason, I decided to switch to civil engineering, so I can contribute to the future of our country.

What defines me as a person is my focus on self-development. I believe in the "circle of influence" and always try to see what I can do to improve myself. This applies both to my work and my interactions with others. Communication is important to me, especially listening to what others have to say. This allows me to build relationships easily. Additionally, I am assertive and like to take the initiative, whether it's picking up a task or starting a conversation. Lastly, I always remain open to the world around me, the driving force behind both the technical sector and our society.​​​
